Equipe Hope

HOPE OBJECTIVES

Hope's goal is to build and maintain a shelter for animals that will be cared for by homeless people who will have the opportunity for a DECENT JOB. A solid adoption campaign, in addition to training and professionalizing these people.

The shelter will be a temporary home for abandoned and sick animals, with a commitment to find permanent housing through innovative online programs and public campaigns.

There is a growing body of empirical and academic research studying the link unique between homeless people and animals.

President and founder of Hope, he is a journalist, constitutional lawyer and author of four books that The New York Times found that they were among the best sellers in the Politics and Law section. He is also one of founders of independent media portal The Intercept.

DAVID MIRANDA

David Miranda, founder and board member of Hope, is also the first LGBT councilor from the city of Rio de Janeiro, activist for the Democratization of Media and Information, activist for Together, collaborator at Casa da Juventude and coordinator of the asylum campaign for Edward Snowden in Brazil.

As part of his campaign for City Council, David Miranda highlighted the rights of animals as one of the main plans of his campaign, and promised to create programs to help both animals as well as the homeless population in Rio de Janeiro.

SINGULARITIES OF THE PROJECT

There is no program anywhere in the world, to our knowledge, designed for create and operate an animal shelter with homeless people, who traditionally tend to be affectively linked. The uniqueness of the model is special.

The next step is to build the shelter. But to do that, Hope needs of your help through donations and/or sponsorship.
